Weavers of Tarum
Rooted in their land, this family-led group prides itself in eco-friendly dyes, exclusively using local plants, leaves and roots from their own gardens. It is a complicated and arduous process, and an increasingly rare one because of economies of scale. Few practitioners remain in Bali and weโre proud to partner with Tarum to preserve this significant work on and within the land. Their knowledge of ancient techniques and traditional designs are displayed in the beautiful hues and masterfully woven textiles, the living tradition of Indonesia. It is beyond cloth. It is passed down for centuries, connecting families and continually being renewed with each new weaver and their personal artistic touch. It is a medium of expression and always an integral part of recognizing important milestones, celebrations and spiritual activities.
As they say here, textiles are part of the spiritual life.
