Handwoven in the Western Highlands of Guatemala, these wool blankets are made using virgin wool that is cleaned, brushed and naturally dyed by the women in the family. Men then spin the wool by hand, creating thick strands that are slowly woven on a wooden pedal loom. It is an art of partnership in the family, passed down for as long as anyone can remember.
Each blanket celebrates this heritage, promotes ethical and dignified employment and provides for the families of the Momostanengo Weavers.
