Today Ara Collective becomes Marra. We have a new look and a gorgeous new website, and I’m thrilled to finally get to show you!
We still have the same values in social business and we still partner with the same incredible artisans. Ara Collective has always stood out as a brand that blends traditional craftsmanship with modern style. We will continue to do that in the global marketplace.
I want our branding, just like our homes, to be thoughtfully curated and reflect our love for ancient and modern artistry. As I’ve considered how our brand has grown over the years and where we’re looking to go in the future, it felt like we grew out of Ara Collective. I suppose, just like the rest of us, it’s evolved and refined over the years. Marra embodies those changes.
The word “Marra” has a lot of meanings in different languages. It means friend in Geordie English, eternally beautiful in Greek, working from the land in Italian and strength in sorrow in Hebrew. To me, all these terms represent what we do, who we work with and the variety of places we go.
