In August 2016, I traveled to Mozambique. Here I found a different Africa than I had ever experienced. A coastline that looked like Hawaii, the turquoise Indian Ocean full of whales, vibrant fishing communities living off the sea and shore. It’s these communities that are the heart and soul of our Spring 2017 Collection.
Our new baskets originate from everyday Mozambican pieces. Using ilala palm leaves that grow along the coast, these baskets typically hold the fresh catch of the day or market produce. Beautiful in their simplicity and the hands that masterfully weave them.
