We thought there was only one color of cotton, but in Guatemala there are three! One being this rich, warm redish-brown hue that we can’t get enough of lately. Locally collected, hand-spun and woven on a backstrap loom without machine or chemicals, each stage of making this blanket was carried out with care and pride in the Mayan weaving culture. Special details can be seen in the embroidered lines called “randa”, a hand-stitch connecting the three panels that measure the width of the weaver’s waist, which the backstrap loom was wrapped around. This one-of-a-kind blanket makes a beautiful décor accent in your home and is the perfect size to wrap around your shoulders on a cool evening. Due to its handmade nature, each throw varies slightly and has slight imperfections that we consider beautiful.
